The Chimera Ant arc is often brought up as one of the best arcs in anime and manga. It plays with foretelling, the establishment and breaking of expectations, and starts a debate into what is a protagonist and if they are necessarily the hero. It is both brilliantly hopeful, and drowning in despair, and worthy of a bit of literary analysis.
